Scarborough & Tweed Tackles Homelessness

Scarborough & Tweed is excited to introduce the Great Football Sunday™ Equipment Bag, which we created to support the Great Football Sunday campaign. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the bag will be donated to charitable organizations dedicated to ending homelessness.

The spacious and sturdy canvas Equipment Bag comfortably carries your athletic clothes, shoes and gear. The bag features an extra-long adjustable shoulder strap with leather shoulder pad, heavy buff cotton webbing, and buff welting. The heavy-duty zipper top, with leather zipper pull, securely contains your gear. An extra-large nylon inside zipper pocket separates your shoes, wet swimsuit, or wet clothing from the rest of your gear. The bag is available in a multitude of colors and made in the USA.

Scarborough & Tweed recently teamed up with six other women-owned businesses to launch the Great Football Sunday initiative, which aims to raise awareness about the plight of the homeless in the New York City and New Jersey area. The homeless population in New York City and New Jersey would overflow MetLife Stadium, the location of the Super Bowl XLVIII on February 2, 2014. The group’s goal is to raise at least $1 million through corporate contributions and crowdfunding by Super Bowl Sunday and donate the funds to charities working to end homelessness in the region: Community Solutions’ 100,000 Homes Campaign and Family Promise of Bergen County.

The effort will culminate with a Super Bowl viewing party for homeless families and community supporters.

The Great Football Sunday team, led by Cheryl McCants of Impact Consulting Enterprises, includes the following women-owned businesses: Scarborough & Tweed, Fearless Media, Focus USA, MarbleHill Media, The Mixx and Hotathon.
